2026 ICA - Peoria Chess Camp

Open to Ages: K-12 (Students will be grouped according to ratings for instruction)
Includes a free ICA Scholastic Chess membership and a free US Chess Membership for new players!!!

Schedule:
Monday-Wednesday -- 9am - 3pm -- Instruction
Friday -- 9am doors open, First Round 9:30 See Tournament for more details -- Chess Puzzles, Prizes, & Rated Tournament
(This tournament is in Bloomington/Normal!!!!!! Students are registered for FREE; let Mrs. Dawson know if you ARE NOT planning on going to Bloomington to play in the Camp Tournament.)

Fees:

EARLY REGISTRATION:

$150 until July 24

$75 for each additional sibling until July 24

LATE REGISTRATION:

$200 After July 24th & "At-The-Door."

Tournament - $0 Included with FULL camp registration

Camp Activities:

Monday - Wednesday -- Chess Instruction with a FIDE Master, International Master (IM), and multiple Expert Level Instructors

Beginners: will learn how to play the game and how to start a strong chess game & basic checkmates.

Art activities, puzzles, giant chess, and playground breaks will keep the learning fresh & fun!

Intermediate / Advanced: will learn Skill Drills, Advanced Checkmate Patterns, Tactical Training, Opening Theory, Endgame Drills

& how to perform post-game Analysis

Friday -- (the last day of camp) is a Puzzle & Chess Rated TOURNAMENT !! Campers are automatically enrolled in the tournament.

If you are not a camper but are interested in the tournament, register through the tournament link.
