UNLV Chess Presents:

2026 Intermountain Intercollegiate Chess Tournament

 

Location: UNLV Institute of Gaming (Stan Fulton Building), Ballroom A

Date : Saturday, March 14th
Time: 1st round starts at 10:00 am. Please check in by 9:30 if possible or
text me at 801-560-0498.

 

Team Schedule (4 rounds, G/45;+5): Registration opens at 9:00am and closes at 9:45

Round 1: 10:00am 

Lunch 12 noon or when Round 1 finishes

Round 2: 12:30pm

Round 3: 2:30pm

Round 4: 4:30pm

 

Individual Schedule (5 rounds, G/25+5)

Round 1: 10:00am

Round 2: 11:00am

Lunch: 12 noon or when Round 2 finishes

Round 3: 1:00pm

Round 4: 2:30pm

Round 5: 3:30pm

Lunch: Will be provided announced the week prior to the tournament

Registration/Entry List: 

 

For teams:

 Teams may comprise of students enrolled in the 2025-2026 semester or current University faculty. Each University may bring up to 2 teams (A and B). Send a list of those constituting your 3-man team to UNLV Chess (chessclub@unlv.edu) or DM @unlvchessclub on Instagram. Please check the entry list on King Registration to confirm that each player is in the correct team. Entry Fee is $20 either on site or by Zelle (chessclub@unlv.edu

 

For individuals: 

  Individuals may register either on King Registration or on site. Entry fee is $10 either on site or by Zelle (chessclub@unlv.edu

 

****Registration opens at 9:00am and closes at 9:30am. Please make any adjustments to teams as soon as possible. (Adjustments to your list of participants, including who is on boards 1,2 and 3 may be made by 9:45am the day of the tournament (this includes substitutes who may join the team section). If there are an odd number of teams, an additional team may be made up of those from different schools, or the host school may add a B team, if required. Therefore, if you have less than three players from your school, we
can create a team from two or even three colleges.)



Eligibility: Consistent with previous years, all participants (with exception to faculty) to be currently enrolled students at least have taken classes in the 2025-2026 academic school year. Students may be required to show any of the following:

  • A valid student ID
  • Unofficial transcript from either current or previous semester
  • Proof of payment



Trophies:
Team: 1st-3rd place
Individual 1st and 2nd place for boards 1, 2 and 3 (You could
come home with a trophy or plaque even if your team doesn’t.)
Individual: 1st-5th place in the individual open section and 1st woman
