US Chess membership is required. Open to all players from all states.

Four Sections. The TD may combine sections if the turnout for a section is low.
Accelerated pairings will be used at the discretion of the Chief Tournament Director.
Entry Fees:
Entry Fee - $50 in advance if paid by 8/30/2026; $60 if paid by 9/6/2026 @ 11:59 PM. $70 thereafter and onsite. Same day registrations get a first round bye to ensure that the first round starts on time.
There is a special entry fee of $40 for scholastic players until midnight 9/1 @ 11:59 PM. Then the fee increases to $50 for on-site registration. Parents of scholastic players should use KYCLASS1 on or before 9/1 and KYCLASS2 thereafter.
A family and sibling discount is available at half the rate after the first family member pays. Email daromott@gmail.com with the USCF ID of the first child and USCF ID of siblings after you pay for the first sibling. Paypal will be used for the family and sibling discount.
This is a class tournament. Players may not play outside their section unless the player is at his/her floor. The only exceptions that will be granted are for players whose live rating falls within the next section.
Prizes:
$2,200 Prize Fund Based on 70 Entries
Section A+ (1801+) 1st = $500, 2nd = $200 3rd = $100
Section B (1601 - 1800): 1st = $200, 2nd = $100
Section C (1401 - 1600): 1st = $200, 2nd = $100
Section D (1201 - 1400): 1st = $200, 2nd = $100
Section E (100 - 1200): 1st = $200, 2nd = $100
Unrated players must play in section E and are limited to earning $100 in prizes. Unrated players are players who have not played in a USCF rated tournament. The live rating will be used for unrated players who have played in more than one USCF rated tournament.

There is no check in. All registered players without byes in round 1 will be paired.
Players arriving after check-in and after registration will receive one half-point bye and will be paired in subsequent rounds. Half-point byes may be requested for any round during registration only (2 max).
