It's Benjamin Blundercheck's 50th Birthday!  Because he does what he wants on his birthday, he will be PLAYING CHESS along with you for his birthday chess bash!  It's a Rapid Tournament and Simul for the Trophies and Blundercoins!  Earn an extra Blundercoin for defeating Benjamin Blundercheck during the simul!

Although Blundercheck holds no master titles or official norms, he has always dreamed of starring in his own Simul!  A "simul" (short for simultaneous exhibition) is an event where one person (usually a highly skilled player) plays chess against a large number of opponents at the same time by going board by board around the room, one move at a time.

Along with a quick tournament, Blundercheck will be hosting TWO simuls during this event, and for his birthday he wants to play EVERYONE HE KNOWS that can possibly make it out for the simuls!

ROUGH SCHEDULE:
Simul #1:  1:00 - 2:00 - Earn One point for defeating Benjamin Blundercheck, 1/2 point for Draw)

G/10 Tournament: 2:00 - 3:30: 3 Rounds of Ten minute Games with an extra three seconds per move (G/10; d3). Earn up to 3 points as usual. (Blundercheck will be a regular opponent here).

Simul #2 OR G/15- 3:30 - 4:30;  You may choose between another simul with Blundercheck or a 15 minute game against a different opponent (paired based on the G/10 tournament results).  G/15;d3.  Earn a point for a win, 1/2  point for a draw.

Maximum of five points total.  In the case of a tie, if time allows, Blitz Armageddon will decide the final winners.  Otherwise, tiebreak scores will be used.

For Blundercheck's birthday, his friends will be entertaining the players and spectators with various musical selections! Stay tuned for musical performance announcements!

This tournament is the second in a series of FIVE Grand Prix events.  Attend as many as you can to win BlunderCoins for the Grand Prize! This tournament presents an opportunity to earn an extra BlunderCoin by defeating Benjamin Blundercheck in the Simul! FREE TOURNAMENT AND SPECTATING.  Tophies to top finishers in each section.

Event will begin at 1pm.  Please arrive by 12:50 to check in.  PLEASE PRE-REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT TO HELP US PLAN!  The event is limited to the first 60 players.  Pre-registering will reserve your spot. If you cannot pre-register, walk-ups for first Simul and registration will be accepted up until 1:00.  Latecomers may still participate in the rapid tournament and second simul.  For those only interested in second simul, please arrive by 3:20.
