Sections & Format:
This is a 5-round Swiss-style tournament with grade-based sections:

K–1
2–3
4–5
6–8

Open to all girls in grades K–8.

This event creates a dedicated space for girls across Chicago to compete, connect, and grow through chess. Whether it’s a first tournament or a return to competition, the focus is on building confidence, gaining experience, and enjoying the game in a supportive environment.

Time Control:
All sections: G/20 d5

Schedule:
Check-in: 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM
Round 1: 10:00 AM
Rounds 2–5: ASAP
Awards Ceremony: ~3:00 PM
Event Ends: ~4:00 PM

Prizes:
Top 3 players in each section

Raffle:
Special items will be raffled during the event.

Registration:
This event is free to attend as part of CCF’s mission to remove barriers and expand access to competitive chess.

All players must be registered in advance and checked in by no later than 9:45 AM on the day of the tournament. Players not checked in by this time will receive a Round 1 half-point bye.

If the event reaches capacity, a waitlist will be enabled.
