Beginner Group Chess Lessons – Sundays at Houston Chess Studio
We are excited to introduce structured Beginner Chess Lessons led by Arjun Talwar, designed for players who want basic and beginning concepts through guided instruction, practical play, and independent study. This class will introduce chess to beginners and younger players who are eager to progress. We will teach tactics and sportsmanship that is required to help build critical thinking, confidence and help develop healthy interaction and teamwork. Arjun is eager to organize engaging chess fun that will help develop new players.
Schedule – Sundays
12:00 – 1:00 PM | Group A – (0-500 rating)
1:00 – 2:00 PM | Group B – Intermediate (500–1200 rating)
Coach discretion may allow placement slightly outside rating ranges.

Homework and study guidance
In-person sessions
One 3-round USCF rated tournament with analysis of games
Format:
4-lesson cycle (paid in advance)
Up to 1 make-up classes allowed
4 in-person classes per month at Houston Chess Studio
1 USCF tournament

$50 per student per hour | 4-lesson package required
