OVERVIEW

• Tournament Format: Round-Robin
• Total Rounds: 3
• Round Times: 2 pm and Rounds 2 & 3 on a rolling schedule
• Time Control: G/30;+5 (Game in 30 minutes with a 5-second increment at each move.)
• Games will be US Chess regular & quick-rated (so called dual-rated).
• Players will be split into groups of four (quads) based on their ratings, from the highest-rated to the lowest-rated.
• In case the last quad is not four players, they will play a mini-3 round Swiss tournament with 5-7 players or they may play double round robin.
• Monthly supplemental OTB regular rating will be used. The Chief TD has discretion to use a player's USCF online rating (ONL) or live rating for pairing purposes in extreme cases where fairness will be preserved by doing so
• Minor roster shifts to avoid family member pairings may be possible
• No byes are available
• Forfeit time is 30 minutes

Entry Fee:

$25 on or before March 16th (Monday)

$30 through March 21st (Saturday)

$35 on March 22nd (Sunday) until 12:00 PM (noon)

Refunds are available only for cancellations made on or before Saturday, March 21st , and will incur a $5 administrative fee.

Registrations may also be transferred to a future tournament if requested on or before Saturday, March 21st .

No refunds for no-shows.

PRIZES

For each quad,

- Trophy for 1st place.

- Trophy for 2nd place.

- Participation medals for all other players.

Special prizes:

- Trophy for best parent-kid pair (cumulative score and cumulative tiebreak score)

- Trophy for best siblings pair (cumulative score and cumulative tiebreak score)

 

REQUIREMENTS

Players must have current US Chess Federation membership. Expiration date of their US Chess membership must be later than the last day of the tournament.
