Description

USCF Dual-rated 4 round Swiss.

Time control: G/45;+10s.

Round times: 9:00 AM, 11:15 AM, 1:45 PM, 4:00 PM.

Sections: U1400, 1400-1699, 1700-1999, 2000+ (Open)

Players within 100 rating points of another section can pay $5 to play up (ex. 1600 can play-up in 1700-1999).

Pairings and prizes based on USCF February monthly supplement. 

If you are unable to register for your desired section, please register in the one below and email asuchessteam@gmail.com so we can manually put you up to the appropriate section!

 

Schedule

Round 1: 9:00 AM

Round 2: 11:15 AM 

We recommend taking lunch between rounds 2 and 3!

Round 3: 1:45 PM

Round 4: 4:00 PM

Players can take a maximum of 2 half-point byes. Half-point byes must be requested no later than 30 minutes before rounds 1/2. Half-point byes for rounds 3/4 must be requested before the start of round 2 and cannot be changed after the start of round 2.

Withdrawn players are not eligible for cash prizes.

On-site registration after 8:30 AM will be given a round 1 bye.

We have a limited capacity of 72 players, register early to secure your spot now!

Early: $25 by Mon March 16th, 11:59 PM MST.

Regular: $30 by Fri March 20th, 11:59 PM MST.

On-site: $35 on Sat March 21st. On-site registration after 8:30 AM will be given a round 1 bye!

Free entry for players rated 2200+ USCF or 2100+ FIDE: Please email asuchessteam@gmail.com with your USCF/FIDE ID & Name!

    No prize deduction if entered on or before Mon March 9th, 2026.

    $25 deducted from prize winnings if entered after Mon March 9th, 2026.

Free entry for currently enrolled ASU students:

    Please email asuchessteam@gmail.com using your @asu.edu email with the subject line (including the curly {}): {CCA Tournament Registration} along with your USCF ID & Name!

    $25 deducted from prize winnings to cover entry fee.

 

Prizes

For each section, based on 20 entries:

1st - $125.00 (25% of entry fee)

2nd - $90.00 (18% of entry fee)

3rd - $50.00 (10% of entry fee)

Withdrawn players are not eligible for cash prizes.
